Company revealed the interview attendees name to their employer?

I attended an interview for a renowned multinational company. The interviewer disclosed my name to other candidates (from my own company) who attended for the same vacancy. Slowly, every one in my company got to know that I attended the interview. It is very much embarring for me. Is it ethical for a interviewer to tell the name to other knowing very well that he too works in my company. Is there anyway this can be legally challenged?
