Why do parents let their kids listen to hip hop which is not music?

Hip hop should have never existed I niss the early 1970's soul and funk music and I used to watch soul train and I wanna know how our kids today and black kids are screwed up?Hip hop caused kids to think that real music such as R&B is soft but if it was pop I would understand .I grew up in the 1960's with Motown like the Supremes and Martha and the Vandellas and the four tops Marvin Gaye and smokey robinson so I was blessed with good music but today is trash.
